Yes, we are a married couple running a manufacturing business out of Yorkshire. And yes, that means breakfast table conversations usually revolve around circular polymers, commercial dishwasher temperature thresholds, and estate logistics.
We didn’t start Ecups because we wanted to join a corporate eco-trend. We started it out of a shared, stubborn determination to stop plastic pollution and leave behind a cleaner, greener world for the next generation.
We look at the 3.2 billion disposable cups the UK burns or buries every year, and we simply refuse to accept that "that's just the way it is."

Helen is the driving force keeping our environmental mission completely watertight. While the corporate world is busy inventing new buzzwords for greenwashing, Helen keeps Ecups fiercely grounded in true sustainability.
From ensuring our manufacturing stays strictly local right here in Yorkshire, to managing The Yorkshire Guarantee, Helen makes sure our closed-loop system does exactly what it says on the tin.
Jon Greenwood
The Practical Specialist (and ex-Commercial Director)
Jon spent years sitting on your side of the desk. As the former Commercial Director at the University of York, he knows exactly what it takes to keep a massive estate running during a lunchtime rush. He knows the pressure of tight margins, the headache of stockroom space, and why buggy apps or complicated scanning systems fail at the till.
Jon didn’t design Ecups to look pretty in a boardroom presentation; he engineered them to survive the rugged reality of high-volume university and public sector catering.
